Mugniv Game Over Controller Novelty Mug

We're calling it quits and shutting this puppy down. All the good deals have been found, I hope we've been able to find some good deals over the last week.

But, as much as we've shown you the good deals, you may not have realized the TRG team was fearlessly keeping you safe from the bad deals, the scary deals, and the, frankly, very weird deals.

Well, to give you an inkling of the horrors we faced, Aleksha has put together the worst Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals she could find. I warn you, these are not for the faint of heart. These... are the worst Black Friday and Cyber Monday gaming deals.

Good night, and good luck.

PlayStation 5

(Image credit: Mohsen Vaziri / Shutterstock.com)

What about if you managed to nab yourself one of the Cyber Monday PS5 deals? Well, Aleksha has you covered on that front, she's pulled together the first three games you need to play on a new PS5.

All three of them will show off what the hardware can do. While it's a safe bet that God of War Ragnarok will be on there, what else will she have picked to put the PS5 in its best light?

Nintendo Switch OLED

As we go into the final hours of the Cyber Monday deals, let's look ahead to what you might do with your fancy new gaming hardware when it arrives. Say the Cyber Monday Nintendo Switch deals appealed, and you nabbed yourself a fancy Nintendo Switch OLED, well, what games could you get that will show off the console's snazzy screen in the best light?

Happily, Elie's got you covered there. They've picked out the first 3 games you need to play on your Nintendo Switch OLED. Can you guess what they are? I mean, they bought four copies of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, so I think you can make a safe bet on what one of them is...

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2

(Image credit: Syafiq Adnan / Shutterstock.com)

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 is not a necessary peripheral. I want to get that out early on. I've spent a lot of time over the last couple of days recommending SSDs, 3D audio headsets, microSD cards, gaming chairs, and the like because they will substantially change your gaming experience.

SSDs and microSDs offer quality-of-life improvements, 3D audio-enabled headsets let you hear things in games you simply can't access without them, and a gaming chair can save you from long-term health issues. A premium gamepad doesn't do those things, but it does feel great to hold in your hand, and it lets you customize different elements, like the thumbsticks, D-pads, and paddles, to make it more comfortable when playing for longer.

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 is the gold standard of first-party premium gamepads, and it's currently discounted on Amazon for $164.99 (opens in new tab), $15 off its normal price. We have seen it cheaper before, but, as we get to the end of Cyber Monday, if you are in the market for Cyber Monday Xbox Controller deals, this certainly is one.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

(Image credit: Eric Broder Van Dyke / Shutterstock.com)

Xbox Game Pass is straight up one of the most cost-effective ways to play a lot of games. The monthly subscription gets you access to a catalog of hundreds of games, and the stock is constantly being updated and expanded. An Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription lets you also play those games on PC, and it enables Xbox Cloud Gaming, so you can stream many of those games to a stack of different devices.

Normally Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs $14.99 a month, but Microsoft is running a short time introductory offer, giving you a month's access for just $1 (opens in new tab). After that first month, your membership will revert to the original price, so set a date to remind yourself to choose whether to continue with the service or not.

Xbox Series S

While Sony let the side down by producing no discounts for the PS5, not even knocking the price of the PS5 Digital Edition, our hardware editor Aleksha makes a strong case for why Microsoft won the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend with its Xbox Series S deals.

"t's important to remember exactly what the Xbox Series S represents for the console market," Aleksha argues. "The sole intention of the system was to provide a capable yet inexpensive way to play the latest Xbox Series X games with only a couple of budgetary considerations. That's because the system runs at 1440p instead of 4K resolution and targets performance instead of visual fidelity.

The system is less powerful but provides a widely more available way for families and younger people to game without having to fork over double the costs for that extra resolution boost. The Xbox Series S is a solid performer if you're less concerned with bleeding-edge visuals and physical discs. "

It's easy to see why when you see the price the console is going for.

Super Mario Odyssey

When talking about the best Nintendo Switch games, I'll almost always default to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I adored the original Zelda on the NES, and love this circling back to that origin. But, I think there's a danger of forgetting the other exceptional early doors Nintendo Switch classic – Super Mario: Odyssey.

I think the reason I tend to forget it is that, on its surface, Super Mario: Odyssey seems almost too much like a good time. Breath of the Wild has this serious, foreboding edge to it. It's a grand epic. In Mario, you turn into a dinosaur by throwing your hat at it.

But, underneath that colorful charm is an excellent 3D platformer with genius ideas popping out of it, like coins from a headbutted brick.

You can currently pick Super Mario: Odyssey up from Walmart for just $37.81 (opens in new tab). It's an oddly precise reduction, but then it's an oddly precise game, so it seems fitting.

Two characters in Pokemon Legends: Arceus studying an item

In a move that's surprised everyone on the team, Elie has revealed they bought Pokémon Legends: Arceus not once, but four times in the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

"If you had told me last week that all I would be coming out of Black Friday with was four copies of the same game, a desk mat, and a T-shirt that says ‘the sea is a lie’, I wouldn’t be that surprised, but I’d tell you I thought I was going to get more," Elie writes.

Have you bought anything in the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales multiple times over? I've bought 48 rolls of toilet paper, but they all come in one box, so I think that doesn't count.

You can see below how cheaply you can pick up Pokémon Legends in your region.

Person playing a PS5

(Image credit: Girts Ragelis / Shutterstock.com)

Something that's been telling over the last week is the absence of good Cyber Monday PS5 deals. Sony's console has been in stock this year, which is a step up over last year's showing, but it's been basically full price everywhere we've seen.

To me, the lack of Black Friday and Cyber Monday PS5 deals is telling. Considering this year, Sony hiked the price of the PS5, in regions outside the US, it felt like this would have been a perfect moment to bring in a brief sale. A short discount window to bring the hardware back to pre-price hike levels, similar to the Cyber Monday Oculus Quest 2 deals Meta's been running. As well as a $50 discount, you can buy the hardware bundled with two of the VR headset's best games. (Although, the deal isn't quite as good as it first appears.)

Microsoft hasn't ruled out an Xbox Series X|S price hike in 2023, which makes the current discounts on hardware stand out. This isn't the retailers setting the discount either, Microsoft has led the price drop from its own website. You can get the Xbox Series S for $50 (opens in new tab) / £60 (opens in new tab) off.

It all show Sony is out of touch.

Old man looks at the future

Vic Hood studying the fine print of the Oculus Quest 2 deal (Image credit: Steve Heap / Shutterstock.com)

There's only been one discount worth shouting about in the Cyber Monday Oculus Quest 2 deals, it knocks $50 (opens in new tab) off the standard price and bundles the VR headset with two great games, Beat Saber and Resident Evil 4 VR.

Though, our own Vic Hood isn't impressed. "While this is a good deal for an Oculus Quest 2 bundle right now," she writes in her analysis. "Let's not forgot that the VR headset got a $100/£100 price hike earlier this year. So, in reality, these bundles aren't good value for money, in some cases, they actually cost more than the individual items would have before the price hike."

Have a closer look at the bundles below.

Razer Kishi for iPhone

While built-for mobile games are naturally getting better with each passing year, the growing quality of Xbox Cloud Gaming and PS5 Remote Play is turning phones into excellent consoles on the go. So long as you have a good internet connection, you can stream games to your phone, letting you play titles far beyond the capabilities of your handset. However, most of those games won't support touch controls so you'll need to connect a gamepad via Bluetooth or get a mobile gaming controller.

While there are more premium options out there, like the Backbone One, there's a cheap and cheerful bundle at Costco, that nets you a Razer Kishi mobile gaming controller and a pair of Razer Hammerhead true wireless earbuds for less than $50 (opens in new tab).

Stray plants - the cat hanging out with books being chill

Want to own one of the best indie hits of 2022 in physical form? Stray, the game where you play as an adorably realistic kitty cat, is down to just $29.99 (opens in new tab) at Amazon right now. That's 10 bucks off its usual retail price.

While PS Plus subscribers can play Stray at no extra cost via PS5's Game Catalog, those not subscribed may want to check this deal out, if only to play one of the year's most fun and unique experiences.

Franklin, Michael and Trevor in GTA 5

Xbox Series X owners can also save a massive 75% off Grand Theft Auto 5. Amazon has the open world crime classic down to just $10 (opens in new tab). Yep, 10 bucks for one of the best, most content-rich games of the last decade.

If you've somehow avoided Rockstar's megahit until now, then this limited-time Amazon deal might just be the right time for you to jump in.

This is the Xbox Series X|S version of the game, too, so players will be able to enjoy higher resolutions and a more stable framerate than what last-gen systems were capable of.

Black Friday Xbox controller deals

With the sales period wrapping up at the end of Cyber Monday, we'd like to stress that both the Lunar Shift and Mineral Camo Xbox Series X|S wireless controllers are still in stock and discounted at Amazon.

Both Lunar Shift (opens in new tab) and Mineral Camo (opens in new tab) variants have been dropped to just $44.99, saving you 36% off the usual $69.99 retail price. Both of these pads rarely go on sale outside of specific events, so we'd recommend jumping on these deals soon to avoid disappointment!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cowabunga Collection PS5

Got a pang for 90s era nostalgia? Catch this radical deal featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cowabunga Collection, which is currently half off at Amazon on PS5!

Right now, you can pick up this cool compilation for just $19.99, down from its usual $39.99 price tag. The Cowabunga Collection features a whopping 13 TMNT games, including arcade hits like TMNT: The Arcade Game and cult Super Nintendo fighter TMNT: The Tournament Fighters. Oh, it supports both local and online play, too!

Two characters in Pokemon Legends: Arceus studying an item

Hungry for more Pokémon after finishing Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? If you missed it earlier this year, the excellent Pokémon Legends Arceus is 20% off at Amazon right now, down to just $47.99 (opens in new tab).

Legends Arceus presents a new spin on the tried-and-true formula, featuring a historic, Japanese-inspired setting. Battles against wild Pokémon are still present, but there's a greater emphasis on catching Pokémon over battling with them.

It's a fantastic and addictive change of pace that many fans prefer over Scarlet and Violet. And personally, I hope it'll be the first of many Legends games given how refreshingly fun the experience was.

Some of Razer's Universal Quick Charging Stands for Xbox Series X|S controllers are solidly discounted over at Amazon right now. Deals are up for the Xbox 20th Anniversary stand ($34.99 (opens in new tab)), Electric Volt ($29.99 (opens in new tab)), Forza Horizon 5 Limited Edition ($34.99 (opens in new tab)), Pulse Red ($29.99 (opens in new tab)), Robot White ($29.99 (opens in new tab)) and Shock Blue ($29.99 (opens in new tab)) variants.

The controllers themselves are sold separately, but if you own a matching pad out of the available charging stands, then they'll complement your controller's design and keep it topped up when you need it most.

Oculus Quest 2 deal

We're as surprised as you are that Amazon's Oculus Quest 2 bundle is still going strong on Cyber Monday. This bundle packs in the headset, controllers, and digital copies of Resident Evil 4 VR and Beat Saber.

It's a fantastic introductory Quest 2 bundle that includes two of the best VR games, all for a discounted price of $349 (opens in new tab). But you may need to act soon if you're planning on purchasing this excellent bundle; as Cyber Monday represents the last day of the sales period, the discount could be scrubbed before the end of the day.

Xbox Series S deal

Xbox Series S deals are still going strong on Cyber Monday. Especially at Amazon US, where you can get a $40 Amazon credit voucher as part of the deal.

The Xbox Series S is $239 (opens in new tab) at Amazon right now, packing in $40 Amazon credit for you to spend on other products at the online retailer. Meanwhile, the console is still down to an impressive £189 (opens in new tab) at Amazon UK.

Xbox Mini Fridge Cyber Monday deal

It's not an Xbox Series X, but it is an Xbox Series X Mini Fridge! This cool-as-ice Walmart deal isn't to be missed if you're looking to chill up to eight beverages in style while you play the best Xbox Series X games.

Right now, you can pick up the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge from Walmart for just $55, down from the usual retail price of $99. That's a substantial saving that knocks the fridge down just shy of half price.

Act quick, though, as Cyber Monday deals won't last much longer!

SteelSeries Arctis 7P+

This was a fantastic SteelSeries Arctis 7P+ deal and then, by the time I wrote this post, the discount reduced. That's how quickly Cyber Monday deals can change. So when I say to grab them while you can, I mean it. It's still a decent deal for one of the best PS5 headsets around though.

Sonic Frontiers

Sonic Frontiers only released recently but we're already seeing some fantastic discounts on Sonic's latest outing on all platforms in the US (unfortunately all these deals are sold out in the UK).

In our Sonic Frontiers review, our resident Sonic fan Rhys Wood said:

"Sonic Frontiers is a bold new direction for the struggling hedgehog, and thankfully, one that’s paid off. Zipping across lush, open maps at ludicrous speeds is exhilarating. It’s fueled by a gameplay loop that encourages tearing up and down each island, ticking off as many challenges as you want. It may be a touch rough around the edges, but Sonic Frontiers marks a triumphant return to form."

cheap Xbox controller deals sales

Xbox Controller deals are being snaffled up pretty quickly this Cyber Monday, but we're still seeing some great discounts available on official and third-party options.

The standout for me right now remains the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, which is down to $137.98 (opens in new tab)/£142 at Amazon right now. I personally own this gamepad and highly recommend it. It's certainly pricey but you won't get a better premium Xbox controller than the Elite Series 2.

Want to expand your Nintendo Switch's storage? Then you should definitely consider picking up a Micro SD Card this Cyber Monday. These handy memory cards allow you to download more of the best Switch games with ease.

Some of the best Nintendo Switch SD cards are up for grabs right now, with the best offers including the SanDisk 64GB microSDXC card for under £10 (opens in new tab) at Amazon UK and a SanDisk 400GB microSDXC card for $30.99 at Amazon (opens in new tab) US.

Exploding kittens

(Image credit: Penty Photography / Shutterstock.com)

I know this Cyber Monday live blog is mainly about console gaming, but you can have a sneaky little board game deal – as a treat.

Right now Amazon in the US is offering three select board games for the price of two. The deal includes some of the best board games and the best card games around, including Catan, Exploding Kittens, Codenames, Mysterium, Gloomhaven, and Ticket to Ride.

To get the deal, all you have to do is add the three games from the list you want to your basket and then the discount should be applied at checkout. Easy peasy. Unfortunately, this is a US-only deal.

Logitech G29

Here's another wheely great deal (I'm so sorry, it's been a long week). The Logitech G29 racing wheel setup is still on sale in both the US and UK. Compatible with PS5, PS4, and PC, it's one of the best racing wheels you can buy, and is currently enjoying a massive discount at Amazon.

The Logitech G29's down to $199 (opens in new tab) / £199 at Amazon right now, one of the lowest prices it's ever dropped to. So if you've been after a great PS5 racing wheel for games like Gran Turismo 7 then don't let this slip through your fingers.

PlayStation 5 with Charging Station

If you’ve got more than one DualSense controller, then you should seriously consider picking up a PS5 DualSense Charging Station this Cyber Monday

Easily one of the best PS5 accessories you can buy, the DualSense Charging Station allows you to charge two gamepads at the same time, saving you from swapping out controllers constantly.

Right now, this essential accessory is still at its lowest price yet in the US: $22.99 at Best Buy (opens in new tab). In the UK, the discount isn't quite as big but you can still pick one up for £19.99 at John Lewis (opens in new tab).

Seagate Expansion Card with a 'Don't Miss' Badge beside it

It can be a real pain having to delete games off of your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, in order to make space for new ones. The Seagate Xbox Storage Expansion Card makes that less of a problem, letting you expand your Xbox storage without hassle – simply slide it into the back of your console.

The downside is this handy card is pretty expensive. That’s why I’m relieved to see this discount on the 1TB version is still available for Cyber Monday. Right now there’s £35 off the Seagate Xbox Expansion Card (opens in new tab) at Amazon in the UK, bringing the price down to £184.99. In the US, there’s $20 off the Expansion Card (opens in new tab), making it just under $200.

That’s still pretty pricey, but I’m hoping we see the price drop further towards the end of this week – especially as we’ve seen it reach £164.99/$189.99 previously. I’ve personally got one of these cards and find the extra 1TB storage it adds to the Xbox Series X’s 1TB means that I rarely have to delete games off my console (unless I go on an Xbox Game Pass downloading spree).

The side panel of a PS5

Whether you're on the hunt for a PlayStation 5 or have just got your hands on Sony's coveted console, you'll want to avoid these 6 common errors people make with the PS5.

After all, the PS5 isn't exactly easy to come by and the last thing you want is to spend extra money on things you don't need, waste storage space, or (god forbid) break the thing.

Xbox controller in a stand

What can make a great Cyber Monday Xbox controller deal even better? A discounted charging stand, that's what. Fortunately, we're seeing a couple of notable discounts right now on Razer Xbox gamepad charging stands in the US, including a $15 price cut for the funky Forza Horizon 5 model.

Nintendo Switch

It's time for a big ol' Nintendo Switch deal drop. Right now we're still seeing some great Cyber Monday Nintendo Switch console and bundle deals available (especially in the UK), including a Nintendo Switch + Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + 3 Months Switch Online for $299 at Walmart (opens in new tab) and a Nintendo Switch OLED + Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope for £339.98 at Argos (opens in new tab).

If you're looking for a gaming chair that's a little bit different (read: downright adorable), then you should consider the AutoFull Pink Ergonomic Gaming Chair this Cyber Monday, which is down to $223.99 (opens in new tab)/£199.99 (opens in new tab) at Amazon right now and comes complete with rabbit ears and a rabbit tail.

Our EIC Julian Benson is certainly taken with this adorable seat (opens in new tab) – it's even made him consider replacing the street dining chair he uses for work (don't ask).

The fantastic Cyber Monday Xbox Series S deal that we shared earlier has dropped even lower in price. That means you can pick up an Xbox Series X with $40 Amazon credit for just $239.99 (opens in new tab) right now at Amazon US. While this deal isn't available in the UK, you can still pick up an Xbox Series S for £189 (opens in new tab) at Amazon UK.

If you're looking for a great Xbox Series S deal this Cyber Monday, we don't expect the deals to get better than this so act now.

Pink DualSense next to a Price Cuts deal

We saw plenty of fantastic PS5 controllers deals during Black Friday and, fortunately, there are still some of these deals live now. While discounts on the DualSense are harder to come by in the US, we are seeing some solid third-party gamepad deals. If you're in the UK, you can still pick up the DualSense (in a variety of colors) for just £44.99 at Currys (opens in new tab) right now.

A glimpse at the open Xbox Mini Fridge

It's officially here, the best Cyber Monday Xbox deal I've seen yet. The Xbox Mini Fridge has been discounted at Walmart, meaning you can pick up this cool Xbox Series X replica for $40 off (opens in new tab).

This fully functional mini fridge is a scaled replica of the Xbox Series X and has space for eight standard-size cans (plus a little extra). It also lights up, which isn't helpful but it is certainly badass.

Nintendo Switch headset deals roundup

Looking for a great Nintendo Switch headset, but on a budget? There are a couple of third-party Switch headsets available right now for under $50, which will do the job without breaking the bank.

While these headsets haven't got the performance of the best Nintendo Switch headsets, they've also not got the price tag, making them a great wallet-friendly option.

There are some fantastic PS5 game deals available right now that could be tantalizing enough for you to pick yourself up a cheeky treat this Cyber Monday. Xbox Live Black friday deal

Looking for a great Xbox Live Gold deal this Cyber Monday? Right now CDKeys is offering 26% (opens in new tab) off the usual cost of a 12-month membership in the UK and 23% (opens in new tab) off in the US.

While the sites specify these subscriptions are for Xbox One and Xbox 360, they are still compatible with Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S – so don't fret!

Xbox Live Gold grants access to three Xbox Live Gold free games a month as well as access to online multiplayer. If you do want to up your game, however, we advise getting Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Xbox Game Pass which pack in Xbox Live Gold alongside a library of over 100 games and a host of other benefits.

The best part? Ff you purchase a 12-month subscription now then, when you have to renew in a year, you will once again get a great Cyber Monday discount. It's a genius strategy.

best Nintendo Switch games: Mario in his kart, raising a fist in victory, princess Peach and Bowser coming in behind him

Hello, hello! And Happy Cyber Monday! It's Vic Hood, TRG's Associate Editor, here with you for the next few hours. It's certainly been a busy ol' week for gaming deals but the fun isn't over yet. Cyber Monday is officially here and with it comes a bunch of new discounts.

Well, that's what we're hoping anyway. To be honest, a lot of the best deals I'm seeing right now are ones from Black Friday that are still available now. But as long as you can reap some savings from them, it doesn't really matter if they're officially part of Cyber Monday or not.

What I am particularly  keeping an eye on today is whether we're seeing any deeper discounts, particularly on console bundles. But I'll also be highlighting any fantastic gaming deals that are still available.

If you've been holding out for further price drops, then today's prices are what you should be taking note of. But often stock on Cyber Monday is a bit more limited than during Black Friday so if you spot something you like here then we advise scooping it up while you still can.

Bang & Olfusen Beoplay Portal review

If you're looking for a premium headset, and we're talking top shelf here, then you may be interested in Amazon's deal on the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal for PS5 and PC. They've had a $200 discount, taking them down to $299 (opens in new tab).

In our Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal review, we said that  "The Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal is a beautifully crafted headset that offers supreme comfort and excellent audio quality. It’s also one of the few gaming headsets to offer active noise cancellation, and doesn’t look out of place when worn outside of the home."

So, if you're in the market for premium, here it is at a sizeable discount.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 isn't even a month old and it's already got a significant discount as part of the Cyber Monday deals, coming down to just $55 (opens in new tab) at Walmart. $15 off its $69.99 RRP isn't something to be sniffed at for sure.

SteelSeries Arctis 7+

Walmart's Cyber Monday deals have dropped, and they include the lowest-ever prices on one of the best wireless headsets around, compatible with PC, PS5, and Switch: the SteelSeries Arctis 7+ Wireless Gaming Headset.

Walmart has dropped the price of the headset to $99 (opens in new tab), a lovely $70 discount.

Xbox Series S

(Image credit: Mohd Syis Zulkipli / Shutterstock.com)

If you can't get your hands on an Xbox Series X, the Xbox Series S may be quite a tempting alternative. After all, the Series X is a full $200 more expensive, and the Xbox Series S isn't a significantly weaker console. It still boasts a 512GB SSD, can run games at 1440p, and is a much smaller device.

If you're looking for the most powerful machine, to play your games in 4K, and experience Dolby Atmos audio, then, yes, you should get the Xbox Series X, but, if you just want access to the current generation of the best Xbox Series X games and you're not fussed about the screen resolution, then you should strongly consider getting an Xbox Series S.

Especially when they're on an offer like this one: currently, you can get an Xbox Series S on Amazon for $249.99 (opens in new tab), and it comes bundled with $40 of Amazon store credit.

For a more detailed breakdown of the consoles, we've put together an Xbox Series X vs Xbox Series S piece that goes into a lot of detail.

Oculus Quest 2

(Image credit: Yasin Hasan / Shutterstock.com)

If you've been searching for Cyber Monday Oculus Quest 2 deals, then you may have already come across this bundle. It's the same offer that Meta launched earlier this week, ahead of Black Friday. The reason I'm sharing it again is that this is very likely as good a deal as we're going to see, and if you're holding out for something better, then you may miss it if stock runs out.

The Oculus Quest 2 (128 GB) edition, bundled with copies of Beat Saber and Resident Evil 4 VR, two of the best games on the VR headset, is currently selling for $349 (opens in new tab). That's a $50 discount on the headset's RRP, without throwing in Resident Evil.

Yes, this is more than the Oculus Quest 2 sold for before its price was hiked earlier this year, but we're unlikely to see a price drop any time soon, so this is the deal that's on the table. If you want an Oculus Quest 2 and don't want to wait for the much more expensive Meta Quest Pro or PSVR 2, then this isn't a deal to wait on.

Backbone One

If you like to game on your phone, then it can be a good investment to get yourself a controller peripheral, particularly if you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and so have access to Xbox Cloud Gaming. With a decent gamepad, you can play through games like Halo Infinite on your phone, while your television is dominated by someone – not naming any names... Emily – who is watching Schitt's Creek from start to finish again

The Backbone One is a lovely-looking gamepad, which is always nice, but it's also a really comfortable device. It's even more tempting thanks to a $25 discount on Best Buy, bringing the controller down to $74.99 (opens in new tab). And, the controller comes bundled with a month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, too.

PS5 Pulse 3D wireless headset

"Okay, Jules," you shout at your screen. "I've got an SSD for my PS5, what now?". Well, I'm glad you asked so shoutily.

While one of the best SSD for PS5 is your first port of call, the next add-on you can buy for your console that will significantly improve your gaming experience is... still isn't a second DualSense controller. Sorry co-op buddies, the focus is on solo gaming first.

You want to consider getting yourself a headset that provides 3D audio. When Sony first revealed the PS5, it bigged up the console's SSD and its immersive sound. Thing is, while you feel the benefits of the SSD with every game, you only get to experience 3D audio with a compatible TV or headset. And it really is a game-changing feature.

However, while 3D audio is available on some televisions, that's quite an expensive way to access the feature, it's much more affordable to get yourself a decent headset – especially when they're in the Cyber Monday deals.

We highly recommend Sony's own PS5 Pulse 3D wireless headset. Naturally, it comes with 3D audio enabled, but it's also a comfortable and stylish headset to boot. Better still, it's currently $30 off at Best Buy, selling for $69.99 (opens in new tab).

Gaming chair

Considering my gaming chair is a dining chair I found abandoned on a street, this is a do what I say and not what I do situation, but let me tell you, you don't want to skimp when it comes to your spine. If you spend a lot of time at your desk gaming and working, then you should look into investing in a supportive ergonomic chair.

Unfortunately, the best of them can be a significant outlay. The good news is a good chair should last you years, but even so, if you can pick one up at a discount, then you can save hundreds of dollars.

We're collecting together a large selection on our Cyber Monday gaming chair deals hub, but here are a few of the best at different price points.

Someone installing a WD Black SN850 PS5 SSD

Continuing in the vein of recommending storage options, one of the top things you can buy for your PS5 isn't a new DualSense wireless controller or a Pulse 3D wireless headset (though both are, admittedly, great), it's an internal SSD.

The PS5's superfast Solid State Drive loads game data incredibly quickly, eliminating most loading screens and letting you transfer between games quickly. The drawback, however, is that it's not particularly large. The PS5 only really lets you install 600GB or so of games. This means, now that many games are more than 100GB, you can only have a few installed at any one time.

The solution is installing an additional SSD, it's a surprisingly easy process, just slotting it into a slot in the console. The problem is getting your hands on one for cheap. These are often very expensive components, but in the Cyber Monday deals, we're seeing quite a few of the best SSD for PS5 discounted to great prices.

For example, the WD_BLACK 1TB SN850X NVMe Internal Gaming SSD is going for just $109.99 (opens in new tab), down from its usual $179.99. We've seen a few drives go for even less, but they look to have dropped out of stock. If they come back on, I'll share them here, but for now, maybe don't wait, as this deal may run out soon, too.

MicroSD card

When it comes to Cyber Monday gaming deals, your first thought may be discounts on consoles, cheap games, or straight up weird peripherals that are cut to such low prices you just have to give them a punt. However, what I'll recommend again and again in this live blog are cheap storage options.

Games are getting bigger and onboard memory in consoles is not keeping up. This means more and more of our time is redownloading games we deleted to make space for other games. It's a dull shuffle using up time we could have spent gaming. That's why increasing your Nintendo Switch's storage capacity with a Micro SD card is a seriously good purchase, especially when we've never seen such a deep discount on a 1TB microSD card.

On Amazon Right now, and for one day more only, you can get a SanDisk 1TB microSD card for just $99.99. That is a silly low price for that much storage. If you buy one thing for your Nintendo Switch this Cyber Monday, this should probably be it.

Xbox Series X gift cards

While I'm out here trying to find specific deals, you can sort your own discount by using a reduced gift card. Over at Target, you can but an $25 Xbox gift card for just $20 (opens in new tab), a 20% discount. Use that to buy a $25 game and you basically just bought it for $20, in effect applying your own 20% discount to a game of your choice.

It appears it's only the $25 card that's on offer, but there's nothing stopping you from stacking them.

If you're in the market for a new Xbox Wireless Controller, which you'll be able to use with an Xbox Series X|S, and your PC, then there's currently a great deal on at Lenovo.

The store has reduced the gamepad from $59.99 to $39.99 (opens in new tab). Better yet you can get an extra $5 if you apply the coupon code 'GAMERSAVER', bringing it down to $34.99

When it comes to console discounts, the Cyber Monday Nintendo Switch deals have been the standout this year. Yes, the console has been around longer than both the PS5 and Xbox Series X, but with near-constant demand for Nintendo's nifty hybrid home and handheld console, we could easily have seen stock shortages or only minor discounts.

Instead, there have been some excellent bundles that have paired the console with some of the best Nintendo Switch games.

Microsoft has done a much better job of keeping its Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles available, not just over this Black Friday weekend, but throughout the year. While we've seen the full-fat Xbox Series X disappear from some shops, it's usually been available somewhere.

The real MVP of this week has been the Xbox Series S, the digital-only sibling of the Xbox Series X. Microsoft has discounted the console by $50, and we've seen that deal picked up at Amazon, Best Buy (opens in new tab), and Walmart (opens in new tab) all weekend.

PS5

Let's kick things off with the best Cyber Monday PS5 deals we've seen so far. In the case of Sony's console, we aren't just flagging the (admittedly few) discounts available, but also giving shout-outs to which retailers have the hardware in stock.  After all, it's still surprisingly hard to lay your hands on one of the machines.
